Critically Review someone's work

You are going to look at another person's work
1.Firstly use 5 words to describe that work
monochromatic
cool

filtered
clean
soft

2. Now comment on the images form

This means looking at the formal elements of an artwork.
  • What is the medium of the work?
The medium is a digital print
  • What kind of shapes or forms can you find?
the shapes in the photo are soft
  • Which  techniques have they used?
good use of rule of thirds, good use of the angle its taken from,  you
  • What kinds of textures can you see?
Matte & delicate textures

3. Finally consider the mood and meaning of the work

Mood means looking at how the artist has created a certain atmosphere or feeling.
  • How does the work make you feel?
it makes me feel a sense of relaxation with a slight tint of sadness

  • Why do you think you feel like this?
i think it makes me feel like this i would say, because, of the the setting of the photo & because of the mood that the monochromatic edit creates. i feel that it could be because of the possible concept/theme that it could be trying to create or has created that could have caused this

  • Does the colour, texture, form or theme of the work affect your mood?
yes (as i've previously mentioned in the question above)

unit 6 - 3D Digital - final images

This is my experimental attempt at creating a 3D digital image for my 3D projects. This task is the second part of my 3D project; again which co-insides with all the research in which we had done before for/along side our research for our Analogue 3D project. For my research this part, i researched at different types of Digital 3D Photography, this was so i could use as inspiration or try to copy/re-do in some sort of fashion. You can see examples of the ones i researched below. As you can see to my left, i decided to attempt in making a portrait in which my mate Alex took of me for his High Key photoshoot, as we was both doing our high key photoshoots back to back. I used this photo as i like the photo, and a very prominant photo of me, the concept behind making the photo 3D was to expand the view of portraiture itself, and to expand the view of reality; in other words, what i mean is, is that theres more to portraiture, and photography in general than meets the eye. For ...

Kaleidoscope

For this lesson i was set a task of creating a a kaleidoscope image using a DNG file (or the option of using a RAW file is also there) in photoshop. for those that do not know, a Kaleidoscope image is an optical instrument with two or more reflecting surfaces, which are tilted to each other in an angle, so that one or more (parts of) objects on one end of the mirrors, that being the image which is used, are seen as a regular symmetrical pattern when viewed from the other end, due to the repeated reflection. it is also dubbed as the kaleidoscope effect. This is the first time i had ever tried to create this process with a photo, plus during the lesson i also learnt what kaleidoscope is and what its definition, and its other known variations, especially as for years before i kept hearing the term kaleidoscope, and i had no idea what it was. For the process of creating the kaleidoscope image, i struggled may times, and did a few slip ups, as the image would not flip the way i want...

Carosel - Art & Design - 19/9/17

For this weeks carosel we got a chance to do some art & design. We did this again over two days & it tested our ability to not exactly draw but to mostly listen to instructions i feel whereas the second part of tuesday's lesson & First part of wednesdays lesson, it gave us a chance to try some printing/press printing, which reminded me of when i did Resistant materials in secondary school in a way, but that could be because of the machine we used to do the prints & also to improve our "structure making skills" which was first part of wednesdays lesson.  List under the following headings: Research & skills - The research & skills we carried out, & learnt, during this weeks carosel, i feel, was how to follow instructions to create tiny bits of art (we did part of this by drawing to music), How to print/print press & how to Create mini structures out of our drawings from the lesson from tuesday. The skills part being i feel how to use th...
