27/9/17 - Media Carousel Lesson - Film & TV

Yesterday's lesson we did for Carousel, we got a chance to create an advert.... of sorts in a Tv & Film based lesson.

the brief outline for it was we had to create a 1 min long advert for a Bic 4 way pen to help promote it & get it to sell of course.

we all had to go into small groups, come with ideas then pitch them to the other groups, then pick the best idea & then the one that was picked we turned into the advert itself.

The whole process for making the advert went well & it was fun to create. We all worked well as a team but unfortunately, we went over the amount of time we had to film it; even though it was fine in the end.

i think for next time to make sure we all improve, we all need to get used to time management but besides from that i feel that we all had a lot of fun during this lesson.

Monday Library Visit With Steve

On mondays lesson, with Steve we went to the library, the purpose of this was to do more research for our current learning subject of Order & Chaos photography. As we had already done research using computers & created mood boards of sorts, but this time it was to mostly collect pictures & research a different way, well collect research that is accurate as the internet can be decieving but it was mostly to get ideas for what we want to do for our own attempt at order & Chaos (we do not have to both we can do either one).

Kaleidoscope

For this lesson i was set a task of creating a a kaleidoscope image using a DNG file (or the option of using a RAW file is also there) in photoshop. for those that do not know, a Kaleidoscope image is an optical instrument with two or more reflecting surfaces, which are tilted to each other in an angle, so that one or more (parts of) objects on one end of the mirrors, that being the image which is used, are seen as a regular symmetrical pattern when viewed from the other end, due to the repeated reflection. it is also dubbed as the kaleidoscope effect. This is the first time i had ever tried to create this process with a photo, plus during the lesson i also learnt what kaleidoscope is and what its definition, and its other known variations, especially as for years before i kept hearing the term kaleidoscope, and i had no idea what it was. For the process of creating the kaleidoscope image, i struggled may times, and did a few slip ups, as the image would not flip the way i want...
