unit 6 - Analogue 3D Write Up

On Tuesday's lesson, we created our own analogue 3D design, to do with our 3d project unit.
For this, we looked into the different types of analogue 3D designs & outlooks, using the knowledge that we gathered & research that we did from a previous lesson.

Before we started to do the project, we research ideas of the types of designs in which we wanted to create in our own vision. this included ideas like stencil art, overlapping images etc. Our teacher Chris also provided inspiration via a Pinterest page in which he created for his blog to show us.

For this project, i wanted to achieve my own take on a stencil art design, but by making it look like, or giving it i should say, a shattered glass effect.

For this process of my project, i gathered an image which i felt would be a, or should i say, a great outcome for my idea for my 3D analogue design -

then i took the image and inserted it into a website called - http://www.stencilcreator.org/

& the i followed the steps in which the site inclined for me to turn the photo into a stencil design, as my idea is to create a stencil art 3D analogue design. Whilst it was finishing off its process of creating the stencil, i printed off the original version of the photo, as i needed it so i could fully create the shattered glass effect.

digital 3d

Digital 3d the technique for this photo is called 3d mesh, it is a technique that is done in photoshop by converting one or 2 layers & greyscale. link to instructions on how to do it -  https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/creating-3d-objects-animations-photoshop.html i would use this technique in my work, to give one of my photos a 3d look, this being to make it stand out more & to give it a trippy affect

unit 6 - 3D Digital - final images

This is my experimental attempt at creating a 3D digital image for my 3D projects. This task is the second part of my 3D project; again which co-insides with all the research in which we had done before for/along side our research for our Analogue 3D project. For my research this part, i researched at different types of Digital 3D Photography, this was so i could use as inspiration or try to copy/re-do in some sort of fashion. You can see examples of the ones i researched below. As you can see to my left, i decided to attempt in making a portrait in which my mate Alex took of me for his High Key photoshoot, as we was both doing our high key photoshoots back to back. I used this photo as i like the photo, and a very prominant photo of me, the concept behind making the photo 3D was to expand the view of portraiture itself, and to expand the view of reality; in other words, what i mean is, is that theres more to portraiture, and photography in general than meets the eye. Pinhole Photographer Research & photo analysis

Photography Homework Research one photographer & analyse one of their photos The photographer I have chosen to research & work analyse is Abelardo Morell. The reason why I have chosen to research him & analyse his work is because, as he is known for his camera obscura work, I find his photos very outstanding from others & very inspiring from others in which I have previously seen of the camera obscura calibre. Biography Abelardo Morell is a photographer who is well known for his mastery of the Camera Obscura technique/subject. Morell was born in Havana, Cuba in 1948 & immigrated with his family to New York in 1962. From there he earned a multiple of degrees, in effort of course, to improve his skills & progress in his desired field. He earned a bachelor of arts from Bowdoin college in 1977, master of fine arts from Yale University school of art in 1981 & an honorary doctorate of fine arts degree from Bowdoin in 1997. He has also been many fe...
