Henri Cartier Bresson

the image, that being the famous photo called "The Decisive moment", i found it to be very expressionistic, as you can tell that the figure or sillouette is probably showing that & i would say its entirety to be monochromatic. Form Obviously the colour for the photo in which the artist has used is monochrome (black & white), but when it comes to talking about black and white photography, you are talking about contrast, where this photo has a low contrast as you can tell with the setting & the silhouette figure. The photo uses different contrast lengths & different textures. Mood By looking at the photo, i find that it makes me feel or creates a sort of eery yet aesthetic feel. i think this because of how the actual photo is presented as a whole (monochrome) & because of, as i previously mentioned the different levels/lengths of contrast in which is used, which i think therefore creates the aesthetic feel. With the eerie part i feel thats beca

26/7/17 - carosel - media (Audio)

Document what you did in the session on Tuesday and Wednesday (Pictures, Diary entries, Printouts ETC)  Tuesday - on Tuesdays lesson for when we was doing media for our carousel, we did/learnt about Audio/recording. In this lesson we had to work in groups & record a little piece of the cat in a hat by Dr Suess & we was allowed to do this any way we wanted to, that being make it funny by changing our voices etc which is what we did & then after we had recorded it we had to use adobe addition to edit it, which unfortunately for all of us we didn't get a chance to do much of this at all.  Wednesday - For Wednesday's lesson, we was required to again work as groups but also as a team as a whole class as we had to pitch ideas then create an advert for a BIC 4 colour pen. in my opinion this was very fun for all of us, but i think we need to improve on our time management as we went over the amount of time we had to make it but besides that i think we all definitely enjoy

Carosel - Art & Design - 19/9/17

For this weeks carosel we got a chance to do some art & design. We did this again over two days & it tested our ability to not exactly draw but to mostly listen to instructions i feel whereas the second part of tuesday's lesson & First part of wednesdays lesson, it gave us a chance to try some printing/press printing, which reminded me of when i did Resistant materials in secondary school in a way, but that could be because of the machine we used to do the prints & also to improve our "structure making skills" which was first part of wednesdays lesson.  List under the following headings: Research & skills - The research & skills we carried out, & learnt, during this weeks carosel, i feel, was how to follow instructions to create tiny bits of art (we did part of this by drawing to music), How to print/print press & how to Create mini structures out of our drawings from the lesson from tuesday. The skills part being i feel how to use th

Carosel - Graphics

Document what you did in the session on Tuesday and Wednesday (Pictures, Diary entries, Printouts ETC)  Throughout the two days of doing graphics, we did two different things, but we kinda had a idea of what we was getting ourselves into, as graphics relates to photography. we had to take photos with our cameras for the first day & also learn about & how to create Typography, which is the first time in which i had learnt about this process. for the second day we had continued, what we was doing in the previous day, but by expanding our knowledge & the task in which was set by digitally creating the typography in which we drew up, digitally by learning how to use a scanner & scan in stuff & to also recreate the typography which we drew up on adobe Illustrator once we scanned it in. we also learnt about composition & also the "design cycle process". Materials - as we did graphics we had to use 3 different types of materials, for the lessons. on

Anatomy of a camera & Shutter speed/aperture/depth of field - 20/9/17

Anatomy of a DSLR In today’s blog, I am going to be talking about the anatomy of a DSLR. For starters, if anyone does not know what DSLR stands for? It stands for Digital Single Lens Reflex. If you are new to photography this blog will allow you to understand the aspects of a camera, because you probably look at a camera & think, “oh it just takes photos/digital images”. But in reality, there is so much to a camera than meets the eye. Aspects such as: . Depth of field . Shutter seed . Aperture . Auto exposure & Many more, & in this blog I am going to be talking about some of them aspects. You are probably wondering, how does an camera actually capture an image, well here how; if you remove the lens of your camera, & look inside the body of your camera, you will find that you will see a mirror which is what the light which is exposed through or travels through your lens hits which of course is also triggered by the shutter of your camera.

Pinhole Photographer Research & photo analysis

Photography Homework Research one photographer & analyse one of their photos The photographer I have chosen to research & work analyse is Abelardo Morell. The reason why I have chosen to research him & analyse his work is because, as he is known for his camera obscura work, I find his photos very outstanding from others & very inspiring from others in which I have previously seen of the camera obscura calibre. Biography Abelardo Morell is a photographer who is well known for his mastery of the Camera Obscura technique/subject. Morell was born in Havana, Cuba in 1948 & immigrated with his family to New York in 1962. From there he earned a multiple of degrees, in effort of course, to improve his skills & progress in his desired field. He earned a bachelor of arts from Bowdoin college in 1977, master of fine arts from Yale University school of art in 1981 & an honorary doctorate of fine arts degree from Bowdoin in 1997. He has also been many fe
