27/9/17 - Media Carousel Lesson - Film & TV

Yesterday's lesson we did for Carousel, we got a chance to create an advert.... of sorts in a Tv & Film based lesson. the brief outline for it was we had to create a 1 min long advert for a Bic 4 way pen to help promote it & get it to sell of course. we all had to go into small groups, come with ideas then pitch them to the other groups, then pick the best idea & then the one that was picked we turned into the advert itself. The whole process for making the advert went well & it was fun to create. We all worked well as a team but unfortunately, we went over the amount of time we had to film it; even though it was fine in the end. i think for next time to make sure we all improve, we all need to get used to time management but besides from that i feel that we all had a lot of fun during this lesson.

Pinhole Camera's - 19/09/17

Pinhole Camera's - 19/09/17 To add to my previous blog on health & safety in the dark room, also in Tuesday's lesson, we also learned on techniques & how to do pinhole photography, & of course how to use pinhole cameras. when doing this , i learned quite a few technical skills, but i will admit i still need to improve in doing this as i was unable to get many good photos as i struggled with the different lengths of time of exposure. For those who do not know, a pinhole camera    is a simple  camera  without a lens but has a tiny aperture. The  pinhole  aspect, effectively is a light-proof box (preferably a shoe box) with a small hole in one side with a little cover of tape, covering the pinhole. When you are wanting to capture the subject you want to capture, when you lift up the little cover, light from the area, passes through the aperture and projects an inverted image on the opposite side of the box, which can be known as the  camera  obscura effect.

Tuesday Lesson 1 - Darkroom

For today's lesson, we all went into the darkroom & got a chance to use the equipment in there & to be able get some experience of using the darkroom. For me this is the first time i had ever been in a darkroom. When we was in the darkroom we got a chance to learn how to use the enlargers in there, what to do with photographic paper, the health & safety rules & how to use the fixer & developer. in my opnion, i thought this was a great start to the course & i found creating the prints we made fun. . Materials Photographic paper Developer chemicl stopper chemical fix chemical shoe boxes (pinhole photography) . Processes For today's lesson, we was in the darkroom & we produced more images, using photographic paper & we started the process by either using objects on the enlarger or using pinhole photography. using enlarger for 10 seconds then put the photographic paper in the developer for 2 minutes then place it in the stripper for 1
